Spot every swing point

Bullish versus bearish swing points, and how to mark real market structure on any timeframe.

Every structure read starts with swing points. If you cannot mark them consistently, everything built on top, bias, ranges, liquidity, is built on sand. A swing point is not wherever price looks like it turned. It has a definition, and using the same definition every time is what makes your structure repeatable instead of a matter of opinion.

Mark swings the same way every time, or your structure is opinion.

02 / Bullish and bearish swings

A candle with lower neighbours, or higher.

A swing low is a candle whose low sits below the candle on each side of it, the market probing down and getting rejected. A swing high is the mirror, a candle whose high sits above its neighbours on both sides. That is the whole definition. It is simple on purpose, because a simple rule applied the same way beats a clever rule you apply differently under pressure.

Bullish swing points are the lows you connect to see where demand keeps stepping in. Bearish swing points are the highs that show where supply keeps capping the move. Marking both gives you the skeleton of the range.

03 / From swings to structure

Higher highs, lower lows, and the break.

Connect the swings and structure appears. A series of higher swing highs and higher swing lows is an uptrend, the opposite is a downtrend. The moment that matters is when the sequence breaks: an uptrend that fails to make a higher swing low, then takes out the prior one, has shifted. Reading that shift off swing points is how you catch a change in direction as structure, not as a feeling.

04 / On any timeframe

The same rule scales everywhere.

The definition does not change with the timeframe. Swing points on the daily frame the week, swing points on the lower timeframes frame the entry. The skill is marking them the same way at every scale, then letting the higher timeframe swings set the bias while the lower timeframe swings time the trade. Master the one rule and it works everywhere you apply it.
